Summit County is the most convenient real mountain elopement in Colorado, and one of the deepest benches of elopement photographers in the state lives here. Many work out of Breckenridge, with others in Frisco, Dillon and Silverthorne, which puts them within twenty minutes of the county's ceremony spots.
The site you choose shapes which photographer to hire. Sapphire Point Overlook is reserved in three hour blocks for up to 30 people, it is non exclusive, and Recreation.gov notes that commercial use there is prohibited, so ask any photographer exactly how they work at the overlook before you book. Loveland Pass sits on the Continental Divide at 11,990 feet with nothing to reserve and wind that builds through the morning; it is a sunrise site. The resort ceremony decks at Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper and Arapahoe Basin are booked through the resorts and bring their own rules.
Ask about altitude and weather. You will be at 9,000 feet or higher, afternoon storms are routine in July and August, and snow can arrive in any month. A local photographer will plan a dawn start, a backup below the pass and an easy pace if you flew in yesterday. Late September is the month locals marry, when the aspens along Boreas Pass Road peak, so book those weekends early.
