Eloping in Telluride & San Juans

Telluride, Ouray, Ridgway and Durango sit in the steepest mountains in the state, at the end of a long drive from Denver. Couples who make the trip tend to get the mountains to themselves, and the aspen groves under the Sneffels Range turn gold in the last weeks of September.

The town of Telluride limits private events in its parks and wants applications well ahead, the ski resort runs its own ceremony site at the top of the gondola, and the forest roads above town are first come. Vendors here are used to small airports, weather holds and couples flying in from far away, so ask about backup plans and travel days when you reach out.
